This blog is to increase public awareness of the use of terminal and palliative sedation without patient choice/knowledge, also called involuntary stealth euthanasia; being used by hospices nationwide outside of the public eye. The use of chemical restraints, justified under terminal and palliative sedation is to control behaviors in a terminal patient without least restrictive environment first considered is unfair to the patient. Hospice end of life care should be reserved for the dying to relieve pain and suffering during final stages of life. Any sedation process should be done at the choice of the patient.
